چکیده

Background. Management of multiple gestation complicated by the foeto-foetal transfusion syndrome is among most intricate modern obstetric issues. The develops in 10–20% monochorionic diamniotic twins leading to 80–100% mortality one or both if left uncorrected, especially early cases. Although usually with placentae, there are notable exceptions vascular placental anastomoses reported dichorionic monozygotic twins. disease supposedly entails from an imbalanced blood interflow between due anastomoses. Clinical Case Description. Patient S., 32 yo, visited perinatal diagnostics at Territorial Perinatal Centre Children’s Hospital a preliminary diagnosis: 22 weeks and 5 days’ pregnancy. Dichorionic Threat extremely preterm birth. Two caesarean uterine scars. Gestational diabetes mellitus. Medical files: patient history, pregnancy calendar. Pregnancy was regularly monitored main ultrasound foetometry, dynamics control Doppler velocimetry. Ultrasonographic signs abnormal haemodynamics underlying were detected first scan 11–13 6 term as collar space thickening foetus. Hydramnios foetus oligohydramnios other diagnosed 28 weeks’ conclusively indicating syndrome. This evidence suggested formation anastomoses, which confirmed morphologically placenta examination. Conclusion. A timely diagnosis correction emerging complications allowed prolongation hospital conditions 33–34 weeks. Both boys live-born Apgar score 7–8.

Fetus papyraceus in dichorionic diamniotic twin pregnancy: a case report.

INTRODUCTION The actual rate of multiple pregnancies is significantly larger than that observed during labor due to the fact that in the course of pregnancy intrauterine death of one or more fetuses may occur. CASE PRESENTATION A twenty-six old woman (GII, PII) reported to hospital in 26 weeks of DC/DA twin gestation complicated by intrauterine death of one fetus in the second trimester of a ...

Discordance for Cri du Chat Syndrome in a dichorionic–diamniotic twin pregnancy

We report on the prenatal diagnosis through array CGH of a dichorionic–diamniotic (DC/DA) twins discordant for Cri du Chat Syndrome. Structural anomalies on one of the twins lead to amniotic fluid sampling, which revealed a partial deletion on the short arm of the chromosome 5. Selective feticide of the affected twin was performed at 34 + 1 weeks' and elective Cesarean section at 37 + 2 weeks. ...

The precise timing of embryo splitting for monozygotic dichorionic diamniotic twins: when does embryo splitting for monozygotic dichorionic diamniotic twins occur? Evidence for splitting at the morula/blastocyst stage from studies of in vitro fertilization.

There is a long-held credo, as illustrated in Langman's Medical Embryology (11th ed., Sadler, 2010), that dichorionic diamniotic (DD) twins develop after embryo splitting in the early stages of embryonic development. However, from our clinical experiences of the examination of data from single-embryo transfers in 16 fertility clinics in Japan and from various reports, the majority of occurrence...

Discordance in nuchal translucency measurements in monochorionic diamniotic twins as predictor of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.

OBJECTIVE Discordance in nuchal translucency measurements in monochorionic diamniotic twin pregnancies was assessed as predictor of Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome. STUDY DESIGN A total of 61 monochorionic diamniotic twins were enrolled. Nuchal translucency (NT) and crown-rump-length (CRL) discordance was calculated as the percentage of delta NT and CRL (absolute difference NT/CRL fetus 1 a...

Intrauterine growth restriction in monochorionic-diamniotic twins.

OBJECTIVE to evaluate neonatal morbidity and mortality in monochorionic-diamniotic (MCDA) twin pregnancies complicated by selective intrauterine growth restriction (sIUGR) and non-selective intrauterine growth resctriction (nsIUGR). METHODS neonatal morbidity parameters and mortality were analyzed in 34 twins with IUGR (< 10th percentile on twins' growth charts): 18 with sIUGR and 16 with nsI...
